3 Reasons Why Your Blog Should Have a Mailing List

On the internet, we have a very short amount of time to capture a users attention (I’m talking seconds). A mailing list allows you to “capture” the people who are actually interested in your blog, and be able to refer back to them. There is really a whole bunch of reasons on why your blog MUST have a mailing list. Before I tell you some of them, I want to say if you have a blog and do not have a mailing list, you are missing out a bunch of traffic and profit.

• First of all, you can remind your subscribers of new blog posts and other things you have going on at your blog. For example, if there is a contest on your blog you could tell people about it in your mailing list. Make sure not remind your readers of every little thing though, this might get a little annoying for them.
• It is a great way to let readers get to know you a little bit better, and that allows you to further promote products you have such as eBooks to your mailing list. But remember once you have the subscription, respect it! Don’t spam a bunch of crap 10 times a day. You should only be promoting around 4 times a month.
• You can bring back people who have left your site! This is amazing, check it out. Someone visits your site, subscribes, and leaves. A week later you send out an email and they might just visit your site again!
