Serious Relationships Start With Providing Valuable Content!

There is a common phrase banded about from Internet marketers which goes something like this “the money is in the list.”

The challenge with this is that only a small minority know how to effectively work their list so that they can make money out of it.

One of the main challenges for Internet marketers is knowing how to make their list work for them. Truth be told that once you know just how to achieve this then you potentially will be way on your way to realising your goals in online marketing.

Some online marketers believe that to make money out of their email list they need to have a list running into 1000’s of subscribers. They key element here is that it is not so much the size of your list but how relevant the people are on the list in terms of what product or service you are marketing to them.

In fact, over the course of an Internet marketer’s career they will be building many targeted lists which will relate to the products and/or services they are promoting.

However, trying to “pitch” your products or services continuously to your list is a big mistake and this can quickly turn many potential buyers off! You see, your list will react favourably to good valuable content and if they like what they see then they will be more likely to buy. They may purchase over the course of time as you start to build a relationship with them through the content you are providing.

It can become all too easy for Internet marketers to get greedy and just keep promoting their products or services to their list with a view to just trying to get sales. From my own experience this just does not work “the money is in the relationship you build and have with your list.”

For example, I have had the good pleasure of receiving emails from people on my list who have said that they have enjoyed reading the content they received and look forward to getting my emails. I have even had some emails saying why I had “gone quiet” and when was I going to send out more emails?

The main thing with building your relationship with people on your list is to give away information and content which is going to help them in some way. It could be that someone on your list is looking to start a business so you can email them some information on the “5 top tips to starting a business.” This will be useful and the relevant people on your list will see the VALUE in this!

Another tip is to keep the people on your list engaged enough so that they interact with you. There is no better feeling than emailing out valuable quality content and people emailing you and interacting with you. This is really integral to building a highly responsive list who over time can build serious relationships and the buyers will reveal themselves.
