We meet again in this list building secrets series and this time I want to explain about build a responsive list.

Have you heard this slogan, “The money is NOT in the list?” What? Are you thinking I am wrong? Well how about I am going to say that is right? Shocking, isn’t it? It has been carved in your head about what most gurus say that you need to build a massive list if you want to make money online. But didn’t you know, It’s only a half-truth?

I believe anyone can build a list, even a big one. But it is mean nothing when the big list is untargeted and/or unresponsive. Someone could have a million people in his list, but if you can’t convert these massive people to buyer and make you money, what is the good of your list? If you broadcast an email and no one in your list read it or even open it, then what is the good of your list? If so, you are wasting your money and time and you are produce nothing to your income.

The real question is this, “Why you even bother to build a list if they are not bring you profit?” If a list can’t bring you profit, then what is the good to keep have one? Yes, you guessed it.

– The Money Is NOT in The List, But In RESPONSIVE List

I didn’t said that you couldn’t build a big list. You can, and absolutely you must have a big one. But you need to pay attention to these 3 critical points to make your list responsive:

– Research And Learn Your Target Market

I assume you already know your target market or someting we called niche. But do you know what motivates them? Know their hopes, fears, and desires? What something that they think is important to them? How old are they? Man or Woman? What are they doing for living everyday dan how much money they make a month?

You should know deeply your target people in the niche you want to penetrate. Why? Because you want to make yourself an expert in their eyes that you know and feel their problem and you can give them answer. So if you have did some research and learn your target market, then it’s time to…

– Create Downloadable Product & Build a Compelling Squeeze Page

You can write short report about solving the problem in your niche (also you can create video or audio if you want). Remember, you want to make at least a product as incentive (better if it’s a downloadable product), so that people want to opt in to your list, because they will get your report to solve their problem. After finished your report, then you have to build a simple, short and sweet squeeze page to capture people names and email addresses.

– Drive Targeted Traffic

By now, you already learn market, create downloadable product, and build a squeeze page. What’s missing? Of course it is traffic all you need now. Let say, if you want to target a list of people interested in dog training products, it would be wasting your time and money to advertise in a quilting site and magazine. You must advertise where you target market is already hanging out. You can also do JV with similar marketers in the same niche, blogging and run search engine campaigns targeting niche-specific keywords.
