List Building - What Makes a Successful Squeeze Page?

Squeeze pages are the choice of most marketers to build a list because a squeeze page is designed to only do one of two things. That is to get the visitor to either grab the offer and opt in to your mailing list or not take your offer and leave. They work well because most people want to be told what to do next and not have to make complicated decisions.

So what makes a successful squeeze page?

Squeeze page are usually very short and fit inside the screen when opened but there are several things that they must have to be successful.

Optin Form

An option form is the most essential part of a squeeze page because its very nature is to get people to sign up to your mailing list. Without an optin form it not a squeeze page because you have no where for people to take action. In fact you can include more than one optin form, for example, one at the top and one at the bottom of the page.

No Scrolling - Above the Fold

Your visitors should be able to see the most important things on your optin page so that they can make a decision without scrolling down. You can have other stuff below the fold including a second optin form.

Video and Graphics

As squeeze pages only usually have a headline, a few bullet points and an optin box, a video and/or other graphics are used to fill the rest of the page. However your video should be short and to the point, and your graphics should be simple but effective so that they do not distract your visitor from making the right decision for you.

Headline and Subheadline

You headline should standout so people read it first. It needs to invoke curiosity so your visitors want to read more. Keep headlines short and to the point and use sub-headlines only if you really need to do so.

Bullet Points

Bullet points keep everything concise and help you highlight the benefits of joining your list. So make it very clear what people will get by signing up for your list so they can make a quick decision to sign up. Remember many people are becoming cautious about signing up because some marketers just send them an endless stream of sales emails.

Call to Action

Even though to you an optin box or form is obvious, your squeeze page will not be effective unless you actually tell people what to do. Remember they want what you are offering whereas you what their details. Let them know how to get your quality gift with a simple statement such as “Sign up Below for Your Free Copy of….”.

These are the basic things you need for a successful squeeze page. However you also need to do other things such as drive traffic to your optin page and set up your autoresponder with follow up emails. For more information on list building http://www.lucrativelistbuildingsecrets.com/
