Internet Money Making Tips - Why a Squeeze Page?

A squeeze page is one of the most important pieces of your online money making strategy, but many people don’t know what they are or how to use one. The term “squeeze page” simply means you give your reader only two choices: Give you their contact information or leave. You are “squeezing” your reader into an action that benefits you. And, if you have done it well, benefits them very much as well.

A squeeze page is a simple form of sales page. Often, an Internet marketer will give something away, a free report or video with great content are two things often given. The purpose of giving this information away is to get your reader to become a prospect, so you can then convert them into a customer.

Let me stop to define some of those word: Reader, of course, is someone who has found your page and is reading it. Prospect is someone who has given you their contact information because they want the information you are giving. Customer, of course, is someone who has bought something from you. To convert someone from prospect to customer means to get someone who has gotten your freebie into someone who has bought your product or service.

Now that we have learned these terms, how does a squeeze page work? Getting people to your squeeze page is the subject of another article, but it involves designing your page in such a way that the search engines like it. The next thing to consider is what you will offer your reader to entice them to leave their information. It must be something that they want. Once you have designed your giveaway, you must write the copy for the squeeze page. Unlike a sales page, this is usually fairly simple, fairly short. List the benefits of what you are giving using headlines, bullet points, etc. (Many people now use video squeeze pages, where the entire pitch is in a video. This can be very effective.) The final piece is the form to fill out, which you can generate fairly simply if you use any of the many autoresponder services to collect and manage your mailing list.

Once you have gotten these names and addresses from your squeeze page, in other words once you have gotten permission to email the new prospect, it is much easier to continue courting them and to continue letting them know what you have to offer for sale.

In other words, a squeeze page is vital if you are trying to sell your products or services online.
