First of all, you’ll need to do your homework if you want to successfully build a list that will not only drive traffic to your website, but will guarantee the success of the product you are selling. Below, we will discuss list building success secrets your competitors don’t want you to know.

1. Search Engine Optimization is essential. Anyone can build a website, but that doesn’t mean it will draw in traffic from the targeted audience. You need to be actively involved in the process of SEO for long term, sustainable success. SEO increases your likelihood of drawing in the targeted audience, and adding them to your list of clients.

2. Marketing, Marketing, Marketing. It’s important to remember that marketing is HUGE. You will not automatically have tens of thousands of visitors in the first month, or even the second month. In fact, the chances of you even attracting one hundred visitors in a month are slim- unless you market yourself and your website. You can market your website physically or digitally, but it’s important to remember that search engines alone will not give you free traffic for nothing.

3. Web Hosting is Important. Hosting is important not only because it is a factor in search engine optimization, but it is also the foundation for your image. Your web host is what runs your website and email. What if it goes down? If your site and server go down for even half a day, it could cost you lots of money in lost productivity and negative branding. The quality of your website- how quickly it loads, how reliable it seems to operate- is a direct reflection of you and your business. People will not want to subscribe to your email list or do business with you if you have a slow running website, or if your website doesn’t load at all.

4. Your Writing Matters. Statistics show that the writing, or copy, on your website has two key effects on your website. First, it effects search engine optimization. The more writing you do, and the better your spelling and grammar, the more likely you’ll rank well in search engines. Second, your writing plays an important role in your visitors response to your website, and your company. Great writing leads to your users to take action, contact you, and to make a sale. Poor writing leaves potential clients confused and unwilling to do business.

If you keep these tips in mind while developing your website and online business, your chances of building a long list of clients and potential clients will increase. Again, doing your research will only benefit you in the long run.
