Is List Building a Necessity?

I can tell you from personal experience that not building your own email marketing list is downright stupid! It is a necessity not an option! Not only will you struggle to build any kind of real long lasting income, you will have to work multiple times as hard as those who are in progress of building their list or already have one. Why?

1. Email marketing is the best way of delivering your message, hands down. Why else do you get a multitude of spam in your inbox? People know that email marketing works wonders and spammers do not care if they are breaking the law. Spamming people with unwanted email is obviously wrong, but it indicates that there is a reason why so many people still are out there doing it. Email marketing delivers your message right to your prospects. Think about what occurs whenever there is a new product launch or affiliate program. Yes, you start getting email after email letting you know about it. It is also convenient. People open emails when it suits themselves.

2. Research has shown that it takes an average of 7 times of being exposed to an offer before it is effective (where someone buys or joins something such as your affiliate program or network marketing opportunity). How do you give people more information or assist them if you don’t them in your list? Raw traffic converts very badly. Hence, when you post links to sales pages and affiliate programs all over the place, nobody responds! In comparison, people who sign up to be on your list want to know more about you and what you’re offering.

3. Online affiliate programs and business offers come and go like the wind… What happens when you have finally built up a matrix in one of these affiliate programs and you worked 4 hours a day 5 days a week for an entire year just to get 50 people involved; and all of a sudden they close, fall over or the owner decides to do something new?

This is one of my stories. I had the experience of buying into a program/system that was promoted as ultra simple. And it was. A few clicks and done. But I had no access to the list. I could not see their name, email or any other details. I only knew the total number that had opted in to my site. Someone else has backend access to this list though and were most likely sending emails to all the opted-in personnel. And they can, they’re all subscribed to the list. So I stopped and restarted, building my own linked to my own auto responder. Would you still invest your time and energy into something that’s not yours? Avoid the same mistake. Alternatively, if you build your email marketing list, you do not have to worry. If an owner shuts down the affiliate program, you can join another and email your list about it if recommended. You would have built a relationship with those on your list, they’d know and trust you and want to know what else they can do to make money online or want to find out about the newest marketing tools you are using to increase profits.

4. Believe it or not, people actually want to be on someone’s email marketing list. It’s easier and they don’t have to search all over the internet to find what they are looking for. I am on many email lists. I appreciate getting new emails from sources I trust and subjects that interest me or I want more information on. I love learning new stuff and being the first to find out about new marketing tools. Besides, most people want help in building their online business don’t they? Whatever niche you are in, people like to be better educated. People also do not always remember or check to see if a website has been updated with new information. It is a lot easier to subscribe to their list and get notified when they have something new.

5. You will never get wealthy online with one product or affiliate program. Products get outdated, affiliate programs fall away or improved things programs come out. Everyone has heard the saying “Don’t keep all your eggs in one basket” since what if something occurs to the basket and all break? So what is the one way you can create additional income streams online without creating a lot more work or expense? Email Marketing is the only way. You have already built up a list of subscribers, all you need to do now is send out an email. Simple is it not?

How do I make the most amount of money, in the least amount of time, with the least amount of effort, and the least amount of investment?

Building your list will not happen overnight and there will be expenses. But if you don’t build your email marketing list you will be spinning your wheels over and over again getting very little results, if any! I know I did until I started building it… not good!

How you go about building your email list is your choice. The easiest thing I have done was plug into a complete funded proposal system that is still teaching me. Another separate capture page has been made which I market people into. So I now have two funnels.
