How to Build a List Today Starting With a Capture PageWhat Is A Capture Page? A capture page is a squeeze page designed to collect the email address of your visitor, through an opt-in form. Technically speaking a capture page is also called a landing page. A landing page is where someone lands from an advertisement or from links from your blog or website. A squeeze page/capture page has one objective only; getting the visitor to willing opt-in by filling in their name and email address. The goal of a squeeze page is used to build a list of names and emails addresses. A squeeze page is designed for that one purpose more so than any other type of webpage. And that is why we use squeeze pages. You may be thinking why would I send traffic to a squeeze page instead of to a sales page? Let’s do a comparison. Let’s say you send a 100 visitors to a sales page and you make 3 sales and for easy math you earn $300 - that’s a 3% conversion rate. Now let’s say you send a 100 visitors to a squeeze page and 30 of them opt-in to your list that’s a 30% conversion rate. Then after they have opt-in to your list you proceed to send them to your sales page. Remember your sales page was converting at 3% so you are most likely to achieve 1 sale from those 30 visitors so that is a $100. But wait in most cases your conversion rate is going to be significantly higher from the people who opt-in through your squeeze page because they have proven that they are interested in what you have to offer them. People often do not purchase products the first time. It has been proven that it can take up to 7 times before someone buys what your offering. You have 29 other people out of your list of 30 who haven’t purchased yet, who you can then begin to build their trust and a relationship with through autoresponder messages and eventually close the deal. Let’s say you have written 7 autoresponder messages and through these series of messages, over time 4 more people purchase your product. You have now made $500. So let’s compare the results; Squeeze Page - 5 sales When we sent our 100 visitors to our sales page we made $300 and when we sent our 100 visitors to our squeeze page we made $500. We made 66% more money by sending them to a squeeze page and then following up with them with our autoresponder messages. This is just an example you could make 1000% more money if you are good at building relationships. What are the essential ingredients of a squeeze page? It’s important to know that it is better to have a squeeze page will few or no distractions. You don’t want to put ads, banners or links on this page. How much information should you collect? Depending on your business marketing strategies you may want to collect various amount of information. The minimum you want to collect is their email address and on the other end you might want to collect their name, email, address, phone number, etc. However here is the trade off….. The more information you collect, the smaller the percentage of visitors that will opt in. The less information you collect, the greater the percentage of opt-ins. If you collect just their email address your conversation rate could be huge. You could collect more than 50% of your visitors. If your collecting their name too your percentage might go down a little. The more information you collect the more your percentage will go down. However, the more information you collect, the more valuable the lead. If you have their mailing address you can direct mail. If you have their phone number you can do telemarketing and you can outsource those marketing tasks. I however collect people’s name and email address because I like to know the name of the person I am writing to. I find it makes it more personal that way when it comes to building a relationship with my prospect. How to instantly create squeeze pages! As always, thanks for reading!
