I needed something that would help me build a profitable online business and fast. Have you ever felt like this? It’s frustrating, right? You see, for a long time I’ve dreamt of having a profitable website. I thought to myself, this is simple. It must be simple, look at all of the websites on the internet. If they can do it, so can I! I did everything I thought was right. I got a domain name, built a website and filled the pages full content, products and services. I knew enough to know that I needed to get subscribers on email lists to promote my products and services in hopes they would become customers. I put a link on my website that said subscribe to my newsletter with a form. There, I did it, I was in business! Let the money roll in. As you can tell this wasn’t working for me. I thought I’d try again to find a program with some meat and potatoes. I found such a program that taught me how to send emails and make money. I got started right away and implemented all 10 steps. This got me results faster than I expected. While going through the system I realized I was making a lot of mistakes in trying to build email lists. I’d like to share with you three of the biggest mistakes I was making and some of the solutions I discovered. Mistake #1: I buried the Subscribe to My Email Lists form inside my website. Tip #1: Make the subscriber form is visible on your website Place your subscriber form on every page of your website. Make it as visible as you possibly can. You could also create a pop-up window with an opt in form that gets a potential subscribers attention. You will get more subscribers if you ask them in a less than subtle way to subscribe. Mistake #2: I was using a free autoresponder from my webhosting account to build my email lists. My subscriber form wasn’t good, I wasn’t getting my emails and I didn’t know that free accounts draw abuse. Tip #2: Choose autoresponders that offer features Choose one that has multiple features with customizable forms, offers numerous email lists, and is easy to use. One that has proven deliverability so your email messages don’t get lost and get to the intended recipient. Choose one that offers single or double opt in to avoid SPAM complaints. Personally I prefer NinjaResponder, but you can easily search online under “autoresponder services” to find one that works for you. Mistake #3: I wasn’t driving enough traffic to my website. I guess I had the field of dreams mentality, if you build it they will come. Tip #3: Find good ways to drive targeted traffic to your site The more traffic you have to your website the more chances you have that people will subscribe to your email lists. There are many ways to drive traffic to your website, article marketing, social media, search engine optimization, forums, and directories among many others. The key is to make sure that you are driving the right market to your website. Be specific in your articles and make sure the content of the articles include keywords that are geared toward the product or service you are selling, be clear. These were just a few exciting tips I learned. By implementing some of these simple tips you will see that your email lists can overflow with subscribers and potential customers.
