Top Five Autoresponder Tips

Autoresponders are the life blood behind building your list, but in order to make them work well and earn you some money, you need to use them properly to not only build your list but retain your subscribers.

When set up properly an Autoresponder can build your list for you and make you money quite literally on autopilot. It is possible to schedule the release of messages, such as sales offers weeks and months away. Once you have written the messages and scheduled the in for release, that is it your job is done and the whole future sales process is automated. But! If you do it the wrong way you will lose subscribers faster than they are joining, which is not good.

An Autoresponder can be your best friend or your worst enemy.

The top five tips I would suggest you follow are: -

1.) Set out as many of your sales offers in advance as you possibly can and schedule them for future release, whilst broadcasting emails to your list is fine, if someone has received a scheduled email the same day as you send them a broadcast one they may think they are going to be bombarded with emails form you and unsubscribe.

2.) Email your list often to keep your “Connection” with them, but do not email them too much. I would suggest once a week for your newsletter, and maybe one or two broadcast ones per month. Too many and people will unsubscribe, too few and people do not open them as they have forgotten who you are.

3.) Do not try and sell to people on your list with every email you send to them. Again this will annoy people and they will unsubscribe.

4.) Give away as much free content or free tips as you possibly can, but make sure it is useful and relevant to your subscribers. Then when you do send out a sales letter they are far more likely to buy from you. This is of importance when thinking of your first few scheduled Autoresponder messages. A one to five ratio of sales letter to free content should work well.

5.) Send out the odd snippet of news that has nothing to do with business but something about the World in general, this makes you come across in a far more human way.
